Equine Fine Art Photoshoot

Before the shoot

I like to discuss the location and the flow of the shoot to make sure we can create the best possible photos when we set up the mobile studio at your yard.

There are a few requirements:

  • The shoot takes place at an indoor location, such as an indoor arena, barn or stable corridor
  • The area must be at least 3 x 7m.
  • There is at least one power point.
  • A groom should be on hand to assist during the shoot.

If the above is not possible, we might still be able to do the shoot. If you send me an email with what options you do have, we can discuss what is possible.

During the photo shoot

The shoot is often an exciting day for both you and your horse. After I have set up my lighting and the backdrop, we start very calmly walking your horse through the set and slowly get them used to all these elements.

I will fire the flash while we stand calmly with the horse, so they see the flash lighting is not a threat.

The idea is to create a safe environment in which your horse feels completely at ease.

We then start by taking some photos to help your horse become familiar with the studio and the flash. Then we move your horse into the beautiful poses we want.

After the photo shoot

Once back in the studio, I start selecting my favourite images from our shoot to display at the viewing session.

Once you have chosen your favourite images, they are expertly edited to the highest standard.

The viewing session and gallery also provides the opportunity to choose images you would like to have printed for your home.

I offer a selection of print and wall art options including fine art prints both framed or unframed and canvas prints.
